It sounds and plays like a dream. I got the minor blemished desert sun yellow model, but can't find a blemish on it! The Ibanez guitars get a bad rap from a lot of folks, but they're really great guitars for what they are. There are times when I miss that compression, too. She stays in tune very well and the tone and volume controls have a big range, they don't just explode into life as soon as you touch them, it's more gradual which is nice for cleaning up the noise. The biggest issue I found with the neck was that it would occasionally start to give me hand cramps after long periods of time simply because I wasn't used to a neck that was that thin in diameter. The clean tones were not bad. These pickups yield excellent harmonics without excessive brightness, even in extreme high-gain situations.

The Floyd Rose, I hate them with a passion anyway and i never use the trem, it's a pain in the ass to restring this guitar, that isn't the fault of Ibanez though. Satus sounds are not really fat, but trs dynamic and powerful. Ibanez have been a mixed bag over the last fifteen years or so. I have no desire to change the pickups, which is something I would normally do with Ibanez brand pickups, but I really like these, the neck pickup in particular has a beautiful lead tone, and the bridge is great and articulate for fast heavy rhythm playing. A volume knob and a tone knob are on hand to help you shape your sound, while the 5-way pickup selector allows you to access humbucking and single-coil tones.
The maple on this looks pretty nice as it had some good wear on it. If you can find one of these, please pick it up. Just ordered a couple pedals too! Ultimately it just wasn't what I was looking for as the necks on 'em Wizard profile I believe were just too freakin' skinny for my huge hands and it didn't quite get the tone I was looking for more of a single coil guy then. Glad to have purchased this instrument which arrived within days. The neck feels as smooth as butter when moving your hand up and down while playing, the Edge tremelo stays in tune no matter how much abuse you give it, and the pickups sound amazing considering their stock pickups. The basswood bodies come finished in either Desert Yellow, Road Flare Red, Purple or Black. The Prestige series was instituted in 1996. You either love it or hate it.
